清華大學建筑設計研究院成立于1958年，為國內知名建筑設計機構。2010年11月，清華大學建筑設計研究院獲教育部批準進行改制，于2011年1月5日改制為清華大學建筑設計研究院有限公司(THAD)，注冊資本人民幣5000萬元。2011年11月，THAD被認定成為北京市“高新技術企業”。

THAD作為建筑學院、土水學院等院系教學、科研和實踐相結合的基地，積極利用清華大學深厚廣博的學術、科研和教學資源，不斷實現學術研究與科技成果之間的轉化，設計水平在國內名列前茅。2011年，被中國勘察設計協會評定為第一批“全國建筑設計行業誠信單位”并延續至今。2012年10月，被中國建筑學會評為“當代中國建筑設計百家名院”。2019年12月，被中國勘察設計協會評為“優秀勘察設計企業”。2023年3月，被中國房地產業協會評為 “TOP500首選建筑設計機構”第三名。

THAD現有工程設計人員1300余人，其中包括中國科學院、中國工程院院士5人，全國工程勘察設計大師4人，國家一級注冊建筑師242人，一級注冊結構工程師79人，注冊公用設備工程師45人，注冊電氣工程師13人，注冊城鄉規劃師39人，咨詢工程師（投資）18人。THAD設有九個綜合性分院、九個專項研究設計分院（工程分院、城鄉發展規劃研究分院、文化旅游設計研究分院、建筑環境與節能設計研究分院、醫療健康工程設計研究分院、建筑產業化設計研究分院、建筑策劃與設計分院、建筑全過程設計分院、數字科技研究院）、六個院士和大師工作室、三個建筑專業所、八個專項設計所(文化遺產保護中心、結構專業所、工程咨詢所、綠色建筑工程設計研究所、水利水電工程設計研究所、風景園林設計研究所、宜居城鄉規劃設計研究所、工程結構診治與城市交通設計技術咨詢中心)，以及以教師創作為特色的創新設計研究分院和三個教師工作室，此外還有四個院級研究中心（清華大學建筑設計研究院有限公司-康寧翰設計集團-清尚集團聯合研究中心、照明與智能化研究中心、公共建筑工程后評估中心和檢測中心），以職業精神、專業素養承擔建筑師和工程師的責任和義務。

近年來，由THAD設計并建成的工程已獲得國家級、省部級優秀設計獎達六百余項，位居全國建筑設計機構前列?？蒲蟹矫?，THAD完成了中國南極中山站、長城站、昆侖站的站房建筑設計工作；主編及參編了多項國家、地方及行業標準；科學探索，擁有100多項專利技術。學術方面，主編了《建筑設計資料集》第二分冊，參編了《建筑學名詞》；作為產學研的平臺，自2011年起被教育部確認為全日制專業學位碩士研究生聯合培養基地。管理方面，已獲得中國（CNAS）和英國（UKAS）質量管理體系認證證書。

THAD為綜合性設計咨詢機構，從事的設計咨詢業務領域十分廣泛，既包括各類公共與民用建筑工程設計，城市設計，居住區規劃與住宅設計，國土空間規劃、城市總體規劃、詳細規劃、產業園區規劃和專項規劃等城鄉規劃的編制，還包括文物保護工程設計、文物保護規劃編制，以及室內裝飾裝修工程和展陳工程設計、園林景觀工程設計、智慧園區與建筑智能化設計、照明工程設計、機電設計咨詢、綠色低碳建筑設計咨詢、建筑策劃研究與后評估、工程投資咨詢等，全方位、多角度滿足國家和社會需要。

THAD擁有國家相關部門授予的建筑行業（建筑工程）甲級資質和水利行業乙級資質（證書編號：A111007707），城鄉規劃編制甲級資質（證書編號:自資規甲字21110008），文物保護工程勘察設計甲級資質（證書編號：文物設甲字0101SJ0005）， 工程咨詢單位甲級資信（證書編號:甲012022010039），風景園林工程設計專項乙級資質（證書編號：A211007704）。

THAD積極發展國際間的交流與合作，與法國、美國、英國、日本、德國、澳大利亞、韓國、丹麥以及挪威等十幾個國家和地區的高等學校、科研機構、設計單位和業主有著良好的合作關系。

These factors jointly contribute to our top-ranking performance in urban planning and design. In 2011, THAD was accredited by China Exploration & Design Association as a “Good Faith Unit in Architectural Design Industry” in first batch and continued until now . In October 2012, THAD was accredited by Architectural Society of China as one of the “Top 100 Famous Architectural Design Institutes in Contemporary China”. In December 2019, THAD was honored by China Exploration and Design Association as “Excellent Exploration and Design Industry”. In March 2023, THAD was named as No. 3 of the “Top 500 Owners’ Favourite (Design) Services Provider” by China Real Estate Association.

The Architectural Design & Research Institute of Tsinghua University (THAD) now has a top-ranking design team with more than 1,300 engineers and architects, including 5 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 4 national design masters, 242 national first-class registered architects, 79 first-class registered structural engineers, 45 registered utilities (mechanical and plumbing) engineers, 13 registered electrical engineers, 39 registered city planner, and 18 consulting engineers. THAD has 9 comprehensive branches, 9 research branches, 6 studios headed by academicians and national design masters, 3 architectural design sections, and 8 special design branches, as well as innovative & design research branches established by professors from School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, 3 professor design studios, and 4 research centers (Joint Research Center of THAD, Cunningham Group and Beijing Tsingshang Architectural Design and Research Institute, Lighting & Intelligent Research Center, Post-Occupancy Evaluation Center for Public Buildings, and Inspection Center). Fulfilling responsibilities and commitments as architects and engineers with professionalism and expertise.

THAD has won over 600 national, provincial and ministerial excellent design awards for the projects we have designed and completed, ranking in the front among China’s architectural design institutes. In scientific research, we have completed the design of the buildings for China’s Zhongshan Station, Great Wall Station, and Kunlun Station at the South Pole; taken charge of and participated in the preparation of many national, local and industrial standards; and obtained more than a hundred patents. The TUS engineering design software independently developed by our Institute has passed national accreditation. Academically, we have edited Volume 2 of Architectural Design Data Collection and participated in the compilation of the Terminology of Architecture. In 2011, the Ministry of Education confirmed the establishment of a training base for a full-time professional master’s degree joint program, supplying talent to the architecture industry. In management, we have obtained the QMS certificates of CNAS and UKAS.

As the leading provider of comprehensive design solutions, THAD engages in a wide range of design & consulting business, including various types of architectural engineering design for public and civil buildings, urban design, residential area planning and residential design, territorial spatial planning, urban master planning, campus planning and regulation compiling of detailed & special planning. In addition, services such as the engineering design on cultural relic protection, regulation compiling of cultural relic preservation planning, as well as interior design, exhibition design, landscape design, intelligent park and architectural design, lighting design, mechanical and electrical design & consulting, sustainability design and consulting, architectural programming and post-evaluation, and feasibility study report compiling, project cost estimating, catering to national and social needs in all areas and on all fronts.
